The CMAO’s ‘The Road to Independence Conference’

CMAOCalling all COUNTRY MUSIC JUNKIES! The Country Music Association of Ontario’s conference is priced to ensure that ALL artists CAN afford to participate.  The Conference will feature knowledgeable panellists and keynote speakers.  All panels and workshops will be interactive to ensure delegates can connect with key members of the music industry. This conference, while focused on country music, will be relevant to many other genres of music.

Panels and workshops will cover vocal technique, audio production, the business of music, a mock radio station music meeting, marketing and promotion, funding, etc. There will also be a showcasing opportunity.

Already confirmed to participate as speakers/panellists are:  MDM Recordings President Mike Denney; Nashville music publisher, songwriting guru and former ASCAP VP Ralph Murphy; Canada’s vocal coach to the stars, Elaine Overholt; Canadian Country Spotlight’s Stephen Parker; Media Guru Cliff Dumas; Strut Entertainment’s Samantha Pickard, and more! OPPORTUNITIES TO PARTICIPATE AND SHOWCASE AT
THE ROAD TO INDEPENDENCE CONFERENCE
FOR MEMBERS ONLY

If you are a member in good standing that is planning to register for the upcoming “Road to Independence Conference “ November 15-16 at the Delta East, Scarborough, Ontario-
You are eligible to submit for consideration for the following opportunities:

VOCAL COACHING SESSION –by world famous vocal coach Elaine Overholt to receive vocal coaching in front of fellow delegates. Up to four people will be selected for this opportunity. Elaine will demonstrate techniques that will support both the participating artist and those in the audience.

STAGE PRESENTATION SESSION – also led by Elaine Overholt to receive stage presentation in front of fellow delegates. Up to four people will be selected for this opportunity. Elaine will demonstrate ways to improve your on-stage presentation that will support both the participating artist/group and those in the audience.

SHOWCASING – Up to 8 acts will be selected to have a showcase on the Saturday night of the conference. Showcasing at the CMAO Road to Independence conference provides a unique opportunity to reach industry members from booking agencies, radio, publishing and labels and who can potentially advance the careers of the performers.

To be eligible for the Vocal Coaching opportunity you need to submit one video of a live performance that has not been edited. Submit to thecmaontario@gmail.com and include “CMAO Vocal Coaching” in the subject line.

To be eligible for the Stage Presentation opportunity you need to submit one video of a live performance. Submit to thecmaontario@gmail.com and include “CMAO Stage Presentation” in the subject line.

To be eligible for the Showcasing opportunity you need to submit one video of a live performance, one MP3, information about your social media, a photo and 100 word bio. Submit to thecmaontario@gmail.com and include “CMAO Showcasing” in the subject line.
